Well first up it's fun! You never know what parts you might get and if you get the gold parts then you can craft a card with quite good stats. Secondly, if you manage to get all the gold parts then you get a very very rare card indeed. Just look at the "***RSTAR G1111***" which is from one of the first ever crafting missions to launch. If you can manage to craft every single card of a particular instrument then that is some achievement and it is worth shouting about.
