Today I want to tell you about the seventh world stage of Formula E cars that took place in Rome.
For the first time in Italy, the fully electric single-seater competed in Rome, on a track approximately 2.9 km long, with 21 turns, which wound around the most beautiful and contemporary monuments of the Eur district. The cars started from Piazza Marconi near the Obelisco and, after completing 19 laps, reached the finish line near the Palazzo dei Congressi.
Grandstands tickets were soon sold out, as well as tickets for the lawn areas. Anyware it was possible to follow the competition in streaming live on the free Mediaset networks.

Oggi vi voglio parlare della settima tappa del mondiale automobilistico di Formula E che si è svolta a Roma. Per la prima volta in Italia, le monoposto totalmente elettriche si sono sfidate a Roma, su un circuito lungo circa 2,9 km formato da ben 21 curve, che si snodavano attorno ai monumenti più belli e contemporanei del quartiere Eur. Le auto sono partite da Piazza Marconi vicino all’Obelisco, e dopo aver effettuato 19 giri sono arrivate al traguardo sito vicino al Palazzo dei Congressi.
I biglietti per le tribune sono andati subito sold out, così come i biglietti per le zone prato. E’ stato possibile comunque seguire la gara in diretta televisiva sulle reti Mediaset. ]

Preparation

Preparations have begun in the previous three weeks, transforming the Eur district into a full-fledged circuit. There were been also difficulties for those who worked in that area, due to the works of asphalting to remove cobblestones and subsequently due to the mounting of the stands. As the days went by, the circuit came to life and who was lucky enough to see it mount under the eyes he did not miss the chance to take a ride on a part of it, before being closed for the event. I also took a picture me on the finish line!

[Nelle tre settimane precedenti sono iniziati i preparativi che hanno trasformato il quartiere Eur in un circuito a tutti gli effetti.
Non sono mancati i disagi per chi lavorava in quella zona, dovuti all’inizio alle opere di asfaltatura per rimuovere i sampietrini e successivamente al montaggio delle tribune. Man mano che i giorni passavano il circuito prendeva vita e chi ha avuto la fortuna di vederlo montare sotto gli occhi non si è lasciato sfuggire l’occasione di fare un giro su una parte di esso prima di esser chiuso per l’evento.
Io personalmente sono riuscita anche a farmi una foto sul traguardo!]

The day before the race.

The first demonstrations and the first test race took place on April 13th. At the edge of Cristoforo Colombo street, closed to cars but accessible to pedestrians in order to reach the Fuksas' Cloud, it was possible to see the Vip Experience cars. Shortly after I also saw a Formula E car on circuit.
Only in the evening I discovered that the driver behind the wheel of the electric single-seater was Max Biaggi, former Superbike World Champion.

[Nella giornata del 13 Aprile si sono svolte le prime manifestazioni e i primi giri di test. Sul bordo della Cristoforo Colombo chiusa alle auto ma accessibile ai pedoni per poter raggiungere la Nuvola di Fuksas, si potevano vedere le auto della Vip Experience girare sul circuito. Poco dopo un’auto da Formula E, testava il percorso. Solo la sera ho scoperto che quel pilota al volante della monoposto elettrica era Max Biagi, l'ex campione della 250 e Superbike, che stava facendo da apripista alla gara. ]

The race

The circuit drawn between the streets of the capital was very challenging, with new features for pilots, that had to demonstrate an excellent Energy Management. On this close track there were short moments of suspense, overtaking and also some car crash.

[Il circuito disegnato tra le strade della Capitale si è dimostrato subito impegnativo, con caratteristiche nuove per i piloti che hanno dovuto dimostrare un ottimo Energy Management. Sul percorso stretto non sono mancati attimi di suspense, sorpassi e qualche incidente.
La classifica finale è stata:
