You earn faster if you buy LEO directly but with miners you can also delegate/curate it takes some time till the miners catch up to the amount of LEO you could have bought instead of the miners. I calculated

LEO is quite cheap atm. So I would tend to buy LEO atm. LEOM have already a 25% premium on it so this changes the numbers quite a bit but imo the longer the timeframe the better you are off buying miners.
