Yep, Steemit definitely has fantastic potential, but it's also a steep learning curve and needs patience if you don't strike lucky. I like your attitude and holidays are always a good thing to save for.

I was lucky then because I'm very efficient with personal finance. Maybe all the years of backpacking taught me that as no money meant no travel :)

Oh the memories. I also worked in finance around '99/2000 and had much the same experiences. Some stocks I sat on tanked and others, slated by all the brokers, I happily traded in and out of over and over.

Many years ago my Mum taught me to crochet and knit. Sadly I've lost that skill over the years but I'd love to sit down and try to re-learn.

My favourite too. It stands out the best and is instantly identifiable as the Steemit logo. not that the others aren't, but it's the colour scheme that makes it the standout for me.

I would agree with you about reposting as long as it's as part of a bigger post and to illustrate the subject matter. If not, then endless video reposts will end up making steemit look like another clickbait

For a newcomer like me this video really helps to explain how the whole system works. It makes an awful lot of sense and gives me food for thought on the kind of content the community is looking for. It
