Steem, and by extension Steemit, was never a decentralized system. Although there were never any official moderators, Steemcleaners team became just exactly that, deciding who publishes and who doesn't.

It works for me. What I do is, I go to steemitwallet.com and then log in using my ACTIVE key. I was able to power up and such.

Basically you need your posting key to write on Steemit.Com and your active key for sending / receiving STEEM / SBD at SteemitWallet.Com If you don't have these keys and you only have your old
