El Teleférico más alto del mundo: Mérida - Venezuela 🏔️🇻🇪

Corría el mes de septiembre del año 2016, yo había decidido tomar unas vacaciones en la ciudad de Mérida, me estaba quedando en casa de isaacelias quien muy amablemente me recibió con su familia por una semana. Estando por allá, nos enteramos de la noticia que el famoso teleférico insignia de la ciudad de Mérida estaba abriendo al público nuevamente después de varios años de estar cerrado por remodelaciones, así que empezamos a averiguar cómo hacer para conseguir los tan cotizados tickets... Corrimos con la suerte que la mama de isaacelias tenía un contacto en la alcaldía que nos hizo el favor de conseguirnos las entradas (en ese momento como recién re inauguraba, la mayoría de los tickets solamente se podían adquirir por invitación...). Llegado el día de la visita, en la mañana tipo 8 am, luego de desayunar algo llegamos al sitio y de verdad que en aquel momento nos sorprendió muchísimo la calidad de las instalaciones y lo bonito y cuidado que estaba todo. Importante recordar que la temperatura en la ciudad de Mérida ese día rondaba los 22°C. ![2.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmR895aUtbHPtvRdp5Pgvd4bmbmdEnqg5jQcDGCjv2ogQv/2.jpg) _{Dentro de la cabina, iniciando el ascenso} Nos formamos en una pequeña fila que había y esperamos a que nos llamaran para darnos ingreso a uno de los vagones. Nos explicaron que el ascenso del teleferico se realiza escalonado a lo largo de 4 tramos y 5 estaciones: 1ra estación: Barinitas (a 1577 m) 2da estación: La Montaña (a 2436 m) 3ra estación: La Aguada (3452 m) 4ta estación: Loma Redonda (4045 m) 5ta estación: Pico Espejo (4765 m) Cada vez que llegamos a una estación nos dieron algunos minutos para caminar por las estaciones y disfrutar de los maravillosos paisajes. Yo me pedí una torta de zanahoria que estaba buenísima, no he comido otra igual... ![5.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmbdKCeZSuFXeEyD1ULMUpGQcFFvEhHmsQTs27AWKEPmWd/5.jpg) _{Los postres que venden en el café son de otro nivel, 100% recomendados!} En la última estación pudimos admirar el hermoso paisaje andino, ya estábamos a - 2°C y se notaba porque todo estaba cubierto de hielo. Nos tomamos una foto con la emblemática Virgen de las Nieves, la guardiana de la última estación y ya justo cuando nos íbamos el destino nos sorprendió con la que sería la primera Nevada que presencié. Por algunos minutos observamos como empezaron a caer hojuelas de nieve del cielo, maravilloso! The highest cable car in the world: Mérida - Venezuela 🏔️🇻🇪

It was September 2016, I had decided to take a vacation in the city of Mérida, I was staying at the home of isaacelias who very kindly received me with his family for a week. While we were there, we heard the news that the famous flagship cable car of the city of Mérida was opening to the public again after several years of being closed for renovations, so we started to find out how to get the much-valued tickets... We were lucky that isaacelias's mom had a contact at the mayor's office who did us the favor of getting us the tickets (at that time, as it had just been re-opened, most of the tickets could only be purchased by invitation...). Arrived the day of the visit, in the morning around 8 am, after having some breakfast we arrived at the site and really that at that time we were very surprised by the quality of the facilities and how beautiful and careful everything was. They explained to us that the ascent of the cable car is done in stages along 4 sections and 5 stations: 1st station: Barinitas (at 1577 m) 2nd station: The Mountain (at 2436 m) 3rd station: La Aguada (3452 m) 4th station: Loma Redonda (4045 m) 5th station: Mirror Peak (4765 m) Every time we arrived at a station they gave us a few minutes to walk through the stations and enjoy the wonderful landscapes. We took a photo with the emblematic Virgen de las Nieves, the guardian of the last station and just as we were leaving, fate surprised us with what would be the first snowfall I witnessed. For a few minutes we watched as snow flakes began to fall from the sky, wonderful!
