RE: Irony of inflation: it's the opposite of what you'd think.
I hate that we use the dollar as a reference point, even though it is the reserve currency it isn't a static or stable entity wrt. to other currencies, commodities, etc. Thus any notation of true stability

RE: Everyone needs to know JavaScript
Depends on what you are working with. Javascript is nice for working with HTML's document object model, but isn't as strong in other domains. Python is better for data science / processing / modeling.

No, I keep getting more bearish. I haven't really found a fix to that yet. 2017 must have really gotten to me.

Not only are we ahead on the "get paid to work/play" arena, but also we are ahead on governance, leadership, and directional issues that arise in the face of decentralized disorganization. Hive

RE: Is the 13 Weeks Powerdown doing more harm than good for active & loyal HIVE stakeholders?
The point of a lockup period in blockchain that uses staking as a security mechanism is to punish stakers that engage with the blockchain in non-value adding ways. A shorter lockup period is just conceding

Maybe your doubling curve looks better if you normalize it by the increase in the USD money supply. The decline of USD has been more aggressive in the past year than say 2014-2017. Just looking at potential

You wouldn't rollback HF23, you would restart the chain running Steem 22.X and use that as a starting point. The blockchain isn't being roll-backed, it would be resumed at the point where the alternative

The coins are still there on the database. Just fork Steem from right before the 23.0 fork and everybody can get their coins back. That new fork would be the legitimate chain, but I don't see anyone putting

Do you think Steem HF23 is theft? No, but Steem 23 is a inefficient, insecure database. The real question is when Hive wants to stop being one as well.

ETH is much less secure than BTC. ETH has a larger attack surface and has less hash power behind it. If it can manage to fulfill it's vision and is able to innovate through sharding and scalable blockchains,
