I. Sparing No Effort to Escort the EOS Mainnet Launch

In May 2018, the EOS community is about to launch the Mainnet. It was just a new born decentralized community that didn't even have one real leader to guide the launch.

As the launch date approaching, there were rumors that a group of people was attempting to launch a mainnet in advance of everyone else and modify parameters, so they could take away the 10% of EOS tokens that Block.One preserved. In the meantime, community members were concerning about the possibility of launching multi-Mainnets. If so happened, both the asset safety of EOS token holders and the EOS community itself would be brought to a brink of collapse.

On May 23rd, HelloEOS released a proposal to launch a mainnet that would create as much consensus as possible. The same day, we communicated and explained our purposes with every BPCs we used to cooperate with. The next day, the community responded to our proposal, most of the Chinese BPs agreed to join THE Mainnet Consensus. Thereafter, the members in the Chinese community delivered our agreement and the spirit behind it to the global communities. Things started heading in the right direction.

On May 26th, dozens of global Block Producer Candidates already successively signed on the joint statement. Then after a few weeks of preparing and voting, we finally launched the one and only EOS Mainnet together.

As we just fixed the community dividing crisis, on May 29th, a Chinese security specialist, Qihoo 360 Technology Co. Ltd claimed to have identified “a series of epic vulnerabilities” in EOS.IO. All the sudden, the security issue concerned every member in the community. HelloEOS smelled the panic in the air and immediately contacted with SlowMist, a top blockchain security company, to analyze the details of the vulnerabilities.

By integrating the first-hand materials and explaining them to the public through multiple media channels, we eventually lessened the community panic to a proper level. On June 6th, HelloEOS called for cooperation among EOS BPCs and SlowMist, Qihoo360, Knownsec, Alibaba Cloud, Cloudflare, AWS, Google Cloud. The security teams above joint-founded the EOS Security Alliance, signed a consistent security action plan and released the EOS Mainnet status reports periodically. Together, we escort the EOS Mainnet till it finally successfully launched.

II. Standing Out Whenever and Wherever the Community Needs Us

As the EOS Mainnet launched, the EOS market price did not skyrocket like many token holders expected it to be. In the fact, the market price was dragged down by the overall bearish sentiment and almost never looked back. Things will usually get worse when it's already bad. The public started to question EOS from different dimensions, and the community started to worry about the future of EOS.

Under this circumstance, we figured there must be someone to stand out and defense for EOS and rebuild the public confidence. However, when a market is full of FUDs, it takes a certain amount of courage and determinations to stand out to endure the pressure from the public.

Therefore, from August to October, HelloEOS hosted the first round of blockchain national roadshow themed “Hello EOS, Hello World”, the slogan of which was Open, Communication and Cooperation. We are dedicated to bringing more chemical reactions among our ecosystem partners and showing the society a real, passionate, energetic EOS community.

During the tour, the whole HelloEOS team worked with extensive hours. Hangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Xiamen, and Nanjing, we travelled 7 major cities in China over 7 weeks. We invited partners who plays distinct roles in the EOS ecosystem - Block Producers, developers, exchanges, wallets, media, so they could demonstrate their works and share the visions about the blockchain industry.

There were in total 40 ecosystem partners participated in the national tour, including some from overseas: Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University, Starteos, EOS Asia, IMEOS, imToken, Chaince, EOSPark, PDJedu, Antpool, SuperONE, SheLeaders, Cocos, EOS Store, Bitpie, Cobo, bcpress, Ning's Talk on Blockchain, ADD, EOSeco, RenrenToken, LBank, WhaleExchange, Andromeda, eosraychains, eostoken, ZB EOS, StarupGrind, EOShenzhen, EOSUnion, EOS Pacific, EOS BIXIN, FIBOS, Everipedia Chinese community, EOSpace, eostoken, ZB EOS, Meitu BlockChain, EOS NATION, JEDA, EOS NodeOne. The discussed topics involved technical concepts, ecosystem building, DApp development, governance, and wallet security. Each team also shared what they were working for the ecosystem and their approaches of solving different issues.

With the strength of the community, our events achieved a remarkable success. There were more than 1500 community members attended the events, 100,000 of online interactive activities. The events eventually covered 1,220,000 people online and offline.

Dozens of ecosystem projects first time revealed themselves in front of the public. Hundreds of investors and token holders had a much deeper understanding about blockchain by participating in our events, which also made them became active members of the community thereafter.

HelloEOS was the first one who hosted this kind of series events since the Mainnet launch. It was also the first national events in Chinese EOS community with the widest coverage, the longest lasting, and the most comprehensive community partners.

As the tour continued, Zicen, the founder of HelloEOS, shared the latest achievements from EOS.IO in each meetup, and a growing number of positive discussions thus spread out to the whole Chinese community. By participating our meetups, community members from different sectors gradually gathered together. We showed the public a prosper and energetic EOS community, and brought more technical and monetary strength to join the ecosystem.

At the time we completed the first round of the EOS national tour in China, the EOS Mainnet has been launched for 3 months, the amount of DApps on EOS grew tremendously. From the amount of Daily Active Users to Transaction Per Second, EOS surpassed Ethereum from multiple dimensions.

The temporary successes did not stop our steps. Considering different issues toward DApp development, in October, HelloEOS and Andromeda co-hosted an EOS DApp Ecosystem Developer Meetup in Shanghai, a city that dwells the largest domestic developer community.

Like many other teams in the Chinese EOS community, we keep making contributions to the community with our own localized approaches.

III. May the EOS Be with Us

Whilst the EOS Mainnet was launching, we showed our spirit of leadership when proposing THE Mainnet Consensus. And since the Mainnet was launched, we took the responsibility and evangelized EOS across the Chinese mainland.

As we claimed in our official self-introduction, we were the earliest one introducing EOS to Chinese communities. The HelloEOS founder, Zicen, is an enthusiastic fan of Daniel Larimer. He translated EOS technology Whitepaper into Chinese and cooperated with other community members to publish a series of EOS related articles, such as “A Brief Reading Guide for EOS.IO Whitepaper” and “The Most Authoritative Reading Guide for EOS.” At that time, those articles were the most worth-reading EOS related reading materials in China. Besides that, Zicen also launched the earliest EOS campaign in China between November 2017 to March 2018, a Blockchain Popular Science Tour.

The Hello Team has known for the strength of the community well since the build of HelloBTS community, whose members were over 50,000 individuals.

March 2018, HelloEOS formally announced the EOS Block Producer Candidacy, and introduced the HelloEOS brand. Since that, we have utilized our advantages on community building, continuously providing the Chinese community the latest trending news of EOS and introducing the most excellent project teams within EOS ecosystem.

Aside from daily updates and news reports of EOS, we also operated the HelloMedia platform to interview the best teams in EOS ecosystem in ways of video clips or scripts. Our interviewees include BPCs, DApp developers, investors, ecosystem platforms, and other media partners. Through HelloMedia, global BPCs like Cypherglass, EOS Authority, Crypto Lions, Greymass, EOS Café, eosDAC, EOSYS, EOS Dublin and JEDA well demonstrated the contributions they made and addressed their visions to the Chinese audience.

HelloEOS knows how to cooperate and collaborate with different sectors of the community. Through the complementary of advantages, we together participated in the process of EOS ecosystem building.

EOS.IO is a new born software platform that remains a technical barrier to developers. Knowing this, at April 30th, we cooperated with EOS Asia who has great technical strengths, and IMEOS who has great abilities in marketing and advertising, together we built a EOS developer community and provided the developers open source training courses, as well as a platform for them to communicate. As follow, we then cooperated with PDJ education, IMEOS, and CSDN to create a practical EOS crash course.

Right after what was done above, we decided to look for more opportunities on the development of EOS gaming ecosystem. Hence, we cooperated with IMEOS and Cocos - one of the best service provider of gaming development tools and software, to build the EOS gaming ecosystem together, with an approach of migrating Cocos’s vision on blockchain to the EOS ecosystem.

June 9th, we led multiple domestic DApp deverloper teams to join the EOS Global Hackathon in HongKong

June 27th, we cooperated with Cobo Wallet to provide an all-in-one EOS account registration service to send out 1500 free EOS accounts.

IV. The Story Never Ends

In the EOS ecosystem, different teams have different advantages and all play distinct roles. But ultimately our goal has always been bringing prosperity to the EOS ecosystem and growing the economic value and social value of EOS to a higher level. Eventually, we will achieve our visions about the free market that was originally architected by Daniel Larimer. As a team that was born with EOS and is moving forward with EOS, HelloEOS will always spare no effort to support the EOS community.
