It's an interesting question, I think speculative fiction is most certainly escapism. A question that can be posed is of what benefit is escapism in the guise of speculative fiction. To which I would respond

As do I, but I feel like I have a long way to go before I'm proficient in its use. Thank you I find that getting thoughts down on paper is the best way to declutter one's mind and sometimes drawing doesn't
