RE: Curly Willow: Quick Trim [Bonsai]
That curly willow is going to be quite the looker some day, even now it looks amazing. I have no joy with willows. Tried once with a weeping willow and honestly, the branches just tend to do their own

RE: #BonsaiNews: Some will call it murder, I called it grace
Thanks, I certainly need it. It's not wobbly as much as it is very heavy and lacking the support from most of the roots now being gone. I'll see what I can get done. I have to go and collect a younger

RE: #BonsaiNews: Some will call it murder, I called it grace
Thanks for the awesome feedback. I honestly didn't think about that. This monster is quite heavy at the moment so I am concerned about it popping out of the bucket. Think I could maybe create a support

RE: #BonsaiNews: Some will call it murder, I called it grace
PS. I'm actually glad you saw the article. I'm looking for advice design wise for this tree in the years to come. I want to remove the second growing branch in the long run and also strip the upper parts

RE: #BonsaiNews: Some will call it murder, I called it grace
Kind of, but no. It works almost the same as a rooting hormone but aids more in preventing root rot. We're getting a lot of rain as of late and with all of the peat and sphagnum I put in, I thought it'd

RE: Maple Tree: Summer Close-Up [Bonsai]
It is quite possibly the most beautiful maple bonsai I have ever seen. I have a leopard tree I am trying to style in the same manner. The branches and everything are perfectly lateral for the style however,

RE: Maple Tree: Summer Close-Up [Bonsai]
Patience is key yeah. Don't take it out too hard on yourself. At least you have maples.... I might have germinated two out of the hundreds of seed I've tried during the last two years, not sure if they

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, there will be more follow-ups to come in time, probably going to be a while though. I saw that the bougainvillea had started pushing out tiny new growth this morning -

RE: #BonsaiNews: Hugely popular bonsai species, Juniper Procumbens, transformed
I loved it as a cascade as well. But I have high hopes for this tree's future and as for the pot, yes. Way too good for the tree itself but it will grow into it. I kid you not, I was bleeding while working

RE: Late Spring Pruning: Chinese Elm [Bonsai]
A great read and packed with loads of useful advice. Chinese Elm's are somewhat deceiving in my opinion. They are a nuisance to maintain at times but once they have taken form they are splendidly easy

Tell me about it (money wise). It wasn't easy but we did it. Dirty though? Everywhere I went it was beyond clean. I couldn't even find a cigarette bud on some streets.

Thanks so much. I wish we had places like this to photograph in SA. Will try and keep up the content. It's been difficult with work lately.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I think you do need to be rich to live there but most people earning an average wage seem to get by just fine. Others not so much unfortunately.

Thanks a million. It does, somewhat, look like it does in the movies although not as big as one would imagine. There were places I thought would appear much larger and grander but not at all. Give it a

I have to warn you to pack a lot of warm clothes if you plan on heading there in winter - it does get freezing! No, I wouldn't claim to be a professional photographer at all. I used a lowly Canon EOS 1200D

I visited for a month and would suggest that the visit be around that time. It gives plenty of time to do and enjoy just about everything the city offers. Traffic didn't bug me as much since I walked just
