I have pretty good experience working with Instagram in the UK, and I can tell you that most of the companies use only Facebook or Twitter for their social media, because they don’t know much about Instagram or/and there is limited amount of marketing agencies who will help you set up Instagram accounts for business.

If you follow news of SMM industry, then you have probably heard that Instagram has launched pretty cool looking and user-friendly Instagram Business Accounts:

Instagram is very popular among photographers, bloggers and big companies, but small businesses tend to ignore it. If you would be a business owner and I would tell you that you can get around 10,000 Instagram followers in 6 months, who actually live near your business, would you opt to have one? Of course you would. And if I would tell you that engagement rate on Instagram is almost 40 times higher than on Facebook, you would go crazy! It’s true that six out of the seven social media sites including Facebook and Twitter have less than a 0.1% engagement rate. Only Instagram has ~4% engagement rate, and it’s much easier to find your target audience thanks to geotagged photos :) You can actually engage with people who visited your shop/restaurant and posted a picture from there. If they liked your product, posted a picture, then they are more likely to follow your Instagram page.

Good example proving the engagement rates… Coca-Cola ad campaign:

Coca-Cola has over 91 million Facebook Likes and 746,000 Instagram followers. That’s less than 1% of its Facebook followers. Naturally you’d think with that many fans on Facebook the company’s content would see much more engagement there than on Instagram right? Here’s an image Coca-Cola posted to both Facebook and Instagram.

3,751 Likes and 79 comments. Again, those are great numbers. Now let’s see how the same exact post performed on Instagram.
