Happy Holidays
Not much time for posting these days - but it seems like I always come back around during the holidays. I hope you’re all staying safe and having as good of a holiday as you can. Lucky us - we have a rink

Last days of vacay
One week certainly isn’t enough time to recoup after all this craziness. Fortunately I can take vacation - but still, I should have taken a month. Viibrant Cafe in Canal Flats is worth a visit. Rest of

Riding
Not the prettiest of pictures, no reflections etc. But I earned this one. Over 1000m if elevation and sore legs. It wasn’t without a couple of stops. Glad I brought my bike along. After all you can’t ride

River walks
Since we can’t go to Hawaii - we’re spending more time at home in the Rockies. And that means river walks. What you don’t see here is the pasty white body of a Canadian swimmer braving the epically cold

Smoke on the water
The Rockies are no strangers to fire, and this summer isn’t any different. There’s a biggish one burning about 50km away at the moment. Giving the sky a misty like quality due to the smoke. Thankfully

Another day another mountain
It’s been hot in the city over the last few weeks. Hot in the day, hail in the evening. Typical Alberta summer. But I won’t complain - beats winter 1000000 to 1. But when it’s 30C it’s a good time to escape

More in the mountains
Trying to get out to the hills a little more. Summer is passing fast and it’ll be winter before I know it. Overall a lovely day. And since we’ve been so trapped inside - we’re lucky to have natural physical

20 km and my legs are jelly
The hike to Ribbon falls is a long one. 10km in and 10km out. The grade isn’t steep - just relentless. It’s a good one though. You follow the creek almost the whole way with a magnificent set of falls

She’s my pal. Kiku the fierce. She hates me taking pictures of her - so I generally have to bribe her. There’s something about the camera she hates. When there’s no travel, there’s not much to take pictures

How succulent
Spring has sprung in our backyard. Finally. And given last week we had snow - it’s a minor miracle. I love seeing the green sprout - and making my backyard a tiny refuge. Even though I’m mostly stuck to

Falling for you
I’ve shown some spring, some winter and summer photos. But fall in yyc is usually so short we don’t get a chance to take many. The yellow and green is pretty - but one quick snow usually ends all that.

Playa del Coucha
Until it started pushing down with rain - we got a light taste of summer this week. It feels different, but it’s been nice to be able to sit out on the stoop. It’s a nice change of scenery from the couch.

A little bit of winter
Even though the winters are long in Calgary, it’s not excuse not to get out and shoot. We often go walking as a family just for the purpose of photography (summer or winter). We never know what it’s going

I wonder what it’s going to be like after the pandemic. Small, seemingly simple gestures like a hug or handshake will be off limits. We’ll be wary of getting too close. A smile with your eyes will be the

I don’t feel like typing much today. Long week, and tired of being stuck in the house. I’ll have to dream of getting those mountain shots. Soon. Soon. Enjoy the views. Stay safe.

Thankfully we’re almost past the snows. That said every once in a while when I’m done cursing...we have some beautiful days. I say almost past the snow...as we usually have at least one more in May. Gross.
