Hey @stef1, I totally agree. With the capability of post-processing software these days it's easier to be lazy when taking the shot (we couldn't do this back in the film days of course), but for the best

I think that effect you mean in portrait shots is probably bokeh, where you get a nice blur on the background but the person is in perfect focus? In terms of camera recommendations, it's difficult to say
