I love learning new words. I knew this one but only thought of it as explosive. Wasn't aware of the vehement protest part. (Wait until I order a salad at a restaurant next!)

What a wonderful specimen. It must be quite old as it has really mounded. I wish the bolt with the blooms would last longer once blooming but alas nothing gold stays. Keep up the great work!
