My own graphic novel Shades Of Men continues... I know it's been two weeks but covid got in the way and I had to work from home. As I usually draw in the metro commute to work I hadn't progressed much. In the end, I basically drew everything this weekend! As you may know I'm reaching the end of the story soon. The challenge was mostly the rhythm of the conversation and fitting all speech bubbles in the limited space. As you can see in the sketched page, I hadn't planned the text to be so big. Also I made some last minute changes in the bubbles' position in panel 3 so the reading flows better. I like the addition of red nose and cheeks for David on panel 2. This was not planned but I remembered... snow is cold, right? ;-) I added a cold breath as well. With just those tiny details I think it brings a lot to the scene, selling the cold environment they are in. I wonder if not having that would have been shocking? I guess we will never know... I have to remember to do the same in the next page! The last page! Thanks for following along. See you next week for the final page of this 9-year comic adventure. It's been a crazy ride!
