800 years have passed when finally a pirate named Gol D. Roger successfully reached Raftel and discovered the true history of the World. This is what Gol D. Roger uncovered:

Beerka was once a kingdom on the moon which had very advanced technology. The people of Beerka could make robots and dials (which can be seen on Skypia). But despite their technology they started running out of resources and ended up migrating to the blue planet.

The ship the Beerka people used to migrate to earth is also known as the great ancient weapon Pluton. When they arrived they wanted to share their knowledge with the natives and so a many civilizations prospered (such as Skipia, Alabasta, Wano, etc.).

But peace was not going to last long. Soon after their arrival, a secret organization wanted to take the power and authority of the Beerka for themselves and so war started. This organization would later call themselves World Government. To fend off this organization's attacks, The Beerka developed two more weapons: Poseidon and Uranus.

And so the battle of the Devil fruits vs Technology began!

Pluton is the strongest ship in the world with the power to control tides and wind.
Poseidon is the power to control the Sea Kings. We see this power in Princess Shirahoshi though we do not know how she attained it.
Uranus is a dangerous weapon which can be used to control/destroy the World. I believe the World Government has acquired it during the War and are keeping it in Mariejois. I also believe Doflamingo knows this and that is the reason the World Government lets him be.

I believe that the strange World of One Piece (Red Line and Caml Belt) were made using these ancient weapons either as a way for the Beerka People to take refuge in Raftel (so it would be more difficult for the WG to follow them) or as a way for the WG to more easily control the World by dividing it.

Even with these extraordinary weapons, the people from the moon lost the war after 100 years of fighting. They concealed the remaining weapons (Pluton and Poseidon) so the secret organization couldn’t use it for themselves.

The survivors of the people of the moon took refuge from the secret organization and took the shape of the half moon ”D” to use as their middle name.

And so, as usually goes, the winners write history. The WG started to hide their wrongdoing:

they erase the 100 years of history of the war (the 100 years of history (the void century) that Robin wants to find)
They send 20 soldiers to the moon to erase any trace or evidence of the people of the moon. (the 20 soldiers that were sent to the moon are later called world nobles and their offspring are treated like kings. this also explains why world nobles always wear space suits.

The survivors of the people of the moon make a small Island called ”Raftel” where they hide so that the WG won’t find them.

One Piece is in this island and ”Gol D. Roger” was the only person to ever find it.

The reason that the ”D” people are not on the island, is because the Beerka wanted to tell the World their true history and so they made poneglyphs (bits and parts of the 100 years of history) and placed them all around the world so that that knowledge could never be lost.

They call it ”The Will Of D”. The Will of the people of the moon. The Will to be free and share all knowledge with every culture with no oppression.

The Beerka made one final secret weapon while they are on Raftel. This ancient weapon has the power to take the four seperate seas that were divided by Pluton, and turn it back in to one huge ocean, an ocean where all oceans meet - All Blue. This will be possible by destroying the Red Line which will destroy Mariejois and Fishman Island in the process.

The destruction of the Fishman island was already prophesized which is why Joy Boy built Noah - to save the Fishman Island's people. Also Madame Shirley prophesized that Luffy would destroy Fishman Island, which means he will find One Piece and destroy the Red Line creating All Blue.

So when Roger reached Raftel and discovered all this, he knew he did not have the time in him, because of his disease, and so decided to find the one that would inherit his Will. And so he started a plan, he asked his crew to train the person with the Straw Hat, his hat. He knew his crew would find him because he asked them to go to places where all people must go through to reach Raftel, which are reverse mountain and sabaody archipelago so far. He also asked Shanks to look for the descendant of D (which would always be able to read the poneglyphs) that could fulfill the Beerka's wish, which is why Shanks also encountered Blackbeard (though he was not worthy). And finally Gol D. Roger surrendered to the marines to start the new Golden Age of Piracy.
