Greetings everyone, and welcome to my blog. It is another wonderful opportunity to listen to the word of God through His servant, Bro. Eli Soriano.
Christians, in particular, should always be aware of what lies ahead. We must remember that the Bible is not only a book of teachings but also a book that contains prophecies. But what is the purpose of prophecy according to the Bible? In John 14:29 it says, “And now I have told you before it happens, so that when it does happen, you may believe.” This shows that God reveals future events ahead of time so that when they are fulfilled, our faith in Him will be strengthened.
According to the Lord Jesus Christ in John 14:29, Christians are given insight about future events before they take place. This helps believers understand that life is not meant to be lived without direction or awareness. Instead of simply living day by day without thought of tomorrow, we are given the ability, through God's guidance, to plan and prepare for the future.
This idea is also supported in Proverbs 16:9, which says, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” In other words, people can make plans and think about the path they want to take in life, but it is God who ultimately guides and establishes their steps. Therefore, believers are encouraged to plan, think ahead, and prepare for what they want to become in the future, trusting that God will lead them in the right direction.
For this reason, Christians should not simply accept the saying “come what may” and wait for things to happen without preparation. A true believer has confidence about the future because of faith in God. He understands what lies ahead and, most importantly, knows the ultimate destiny of human life.
First of all, we must accept an important truth: every human being will eventually die. Whether we like it or not, death is a reality of life. As Ecclesiastes 9:5 states, “For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even their memory is forgotten.” The living are aware that death will come one day, while those who have died are no longer conscious of anything.
