As you can see, there are four candles in it. Three of them are purple while the other one is pink. Each candle has a different significance. Each symbolizes **hope**, **peace**, **joy**, and **love**. That is placed in every altar of the parish, once a year. The first candle that symbolizes hope, is lit during the first Sunday of Advent. The second candle that symbolizes peace is lit during the second week of Advent. The pink candle that symbolizes joy is lit during the third week of Advent, and the fourth one that symbolizes love is lit during the fourth Sunday of Advent. That name was given to her after she made an appearance to the three kids namely **Lucia** with her cousins **Jacinta** and **Francisco**. She appeared in a village in Fatima, Portugal. Upon showing herself to the three kids, she was surrounded by light and identified herself as the Lady of the Rosary. That happened on May 13, 1917. According to the scriptures, The lady appeared herself Five times. The Mother Mary speaks to the children, to pray the Holy Rosary to have a peaceful world. Since then, it has become a part of our tradition to do **FLORES DE MAYO**. It is a practice where adults teach children how to pray the holy rosary.
