Part of living off grid in Alaska is getting ready for winter. Catching fish, crab and hunting deer and moose is just part of life here. A full freezer will make for a happier couple come January.

I had a great time visiting family and hunting moose with my brother in law and nephew.

Seems simple enough but a lot of people have issues with this. I try to help out with a entertaining way to get it right every time.

We have have hauled a lot of stuff to the island but this was truly a pain. Weighing in at only 250 lbs you would think it was a breeze. Not so much. We hope you enjoy the video.

During my mom's visit the trailer hitch ripped away from it's mount. We had to take a little time to fix it up but then it was back to vacation mode.

The closest town to us is Juneau, the states capital. Although Juneau is the capital most of the legislators do not live in Juneau they live in Anchorage which almost has 300,000 people. Juneau has 30,000.
