Eight years on Hive
Two days ago my account became eight years old. Not much to say except that, at the time, it never crossed my mind that I would still be here. Not many oldtimers left, but stop by and say hello if you

It's been a while since I published an update on my road to 2000 playing blitz on Chess.com. Not that I have not been trying but, it has been frustrating at times. I mean, I was able to reach 2000 playing

Winning on time for a change.
This game is from day 3 of my challenge to reach 2000 playing blitz on chess.com. It features a lot of missed tactics and a lucky finish.

Climbing the rating ladder Day 1
This is the first video of a series where I try to reach a 2000 Elo playing blitz on Chess.com. I have a long way to go since I am starting just above 1600. So wish me luck.

What if conversions are used to increase the DHF?
I am just brainstorming here. Currently, the conversions from HBD to Hive and vice versa only yield a direct benefit to the market actors who engage in such operations. Of course, there is an indirect

One year later...reflections on hive inflation and other related topics
So one year has passed and this network has grown in so many ways. As an economist I am naturally drawn to topics that are related to my field of study. One such topic is the rate at which hive (the token)

What do you do with the HBD that you earn by posting on Hive?
As everybody is aware (or should be) Hive Backed Dollars (HBD) are an important component of the economy of Hive. In theory HBD should act as a mechanism that reduces the selling pressure of the Hive token on the open market. As we all know whenever an author receives rewards on a post half of it is paid out as Hive Power and the other half is done in the form of liquid HBD. Since typically HBD is earned as liquid tokens as opposed to hive which is awarded as staked tokens that have to be "powered down" in order to hit the market Hive Backed Dollars should act as a buffer of sorts that protects the price of hive...in theory. We are ignoring the case when the debt ratio is above 9% when liquid hive starts to be paid out instead of HBD. Given the fact that there are very few places where one can cash out HBDs I would like to gage what do you do with them. I think I know what the most popular answers will be but I still would like to hear what the community has to say about it.

How reducing the number of witness votes per account can improve decentralisation
Hi Everyone, I recently posted about weighting witness votes based on ranking. Ranking enables a user to vote for many witnesses whilst reducing the influence of their stake to control many witnesses,

People you are wasting your witness votes
The only reason that we haven't regained control of the chain is because we are not voting on the correct witness list. Remember that you have 30 votes!!! Use 20 votes on the following list: Once you make
