Game released after 9 years! While everyone's out wasting their Poké Balls on Pidgeys and Rattatas via Niantic's Pokémon GO, a dedicated group of fans of the media franchise just launched their self-made game.Say hello to Pokémon Uranium.

Developed by JV and Involuntary Twitch, who reportedly finished Pokémon Uranium nine years after inception, pretty much the longest period of time it took to create something of its kind.Judging from the aesthetics, the game used a software similar to that of the Gameboy Advance, its look adapted from 2004's Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green games.

However, one would be wrong to think that the entertainment factor stops right there, on its familiar and almost genuine graphics. Here are otherreasons Pokémon Uranium is well worth trying, via Kotaku:- set in Tandor Region (tropical setting, a la Rio de Janeiro);
- 150 custom-made new Pokémon, including;
- a whole new type: Nuclear Pokémon (corrupt versions of ordinary Pokémon, both super effective and weak against every other type);
- supports online trading (Global Trade Station) and battling (Virtual Trainer Database);
- Pokémon Speech Translator (Will we finally be able to understand what our Pokémon are saying?), and;
