If you're in crypto totally for speculation, bitcoin definitely is not a bad choice...but as far as utility goes, if you're actually interested in cryptos not only for profit but utility then Ripple, Litecoin,

Bitcoin is NOT the dollar of the future - it's the gold. Ripple, Cardano etc. has far more utility but Bitcoin is more useful as a savings mechanism. Don't compare apples to oranges.
