hmm, try shorter leaders if that is the case. I have cheap ones too so I ended up doing 8 and 12 inches. if they tangle, because they are shorter, they untangle easier!

yeah short tugs is the best. they are jerkbaits afterall :P i don't get it tangled much, u got one swivel swinging freely on the main line right? that one for me is shorter than the other one

thx! i am not sure if I will make pure fly fishing lures at the moment since i don't fly fish much, but most of the patterns I make can be made into a fly hook as I have taken inspirations from fly fishing

improved clinch knot is good, but i think the # of wraps is important. if you do too few, it will slip.
