Neither of them actually destroy anything, they replace, or "displace" it. Cold is simply the absences of friction between molecules, whereas darkness is dissipated, not destroyed, by light.

This looks really cool. I'm brand new to steem, but I've been reading a lot about it and a mobile app sounds like a great idea!
