The biggest issue I see is when I look on coinmarketcap.com for STEEM. There are only 2 exchanges which do any noticeable volume. These are Bittrex and Poloniex. The market for STEEM is open on Bittrex

I was told that it's legal on a state level, but illegal on a federal level in the US. So the state won't raid you, but the feds might.
