Hello again everyone, we wanted to formally introduce the community to our fur baby, Buddy - as you will probably see him in some of our posts!

For the longest time, Joe & I [Mary] dreamt of having a golden retriever puppy. We wanted one so bad, we would always send each other cute pictures and videos of retrievers. When we purchased our first property, we decided it was time to finally make that dream come true.

We purchased Buddy off of Kijiji and according to the breeders, they were selling four golden retrievers - two males and two females. We did not hesitate to meet with them at a shopping mall parking lot - kinda sketchy, I know. We pulled up beside a dark SUV and a lady came out, opened the trunk and in this small crate, there were the 4 "golden retrievers." Joe picked up the first male the lady breeder had pointed at, and it just so happened to be the only puppy trying to run away from him - it was pretty cute actually, despite that incident Joe wanted to keep him!

Now you're all probably wondering why Buddy is white? ... so did we. Aren't golden retrievers suppose to be gold or brown?! Because we instantly fell in love with Buddy, we would say stuff like... "maybe the gold will come later," or "oh yeah, I see a little gold in there." Honestly, I think it was just our imagination at the time because he is hands down pure white!

Down the road, we realized he was definitely not a retriever. Did a lot of research and found out he's a Pyrenees/Labrador. He's extra large, so white he could blend in with the snow, is free-spirited & has an independent mind of his own, loves meeting up with his friends at the park, likes to think he's super buff & tough from a far but really friendly once he's approached - a little too friendly sometimes.
