My Favorite Game: Half-Life - Story Summary

Hello Stemians,

So today I decided to come up with a story plot of a famous video game, probably one of the best video games ever made if we considered the story.
So basically there have been a lot of video game fans who played recent sequels (Half-Life 2 and it's episodes) but couldn't not really catch the story line.
Here I wrote version 1 of the history of Half-Life and I think it is not bad. It can help what's lost too.

The main characters: Speaking of Half-Life 1. We have 3 main characters:
- Gordon Freeman
- Adrian Shephard
- Barney Calhoune

Here is the story:
The center of Black Mesa is an American research center located in New Mexico. It is controlled by an unknown man (FBI guy, Gman). This center is a former nuclear base and is now experimenting on teleportation.
A day whose date is unknown, scientists manage to open a space temporal passage between the earth and an unknown world bought Xen.
The administrator ordered shipments to be sent in order to learn more about this planet and to bring back items.
One day a group was attacked and did not come back. Thus the administrator ordered all the other groups to return.
A sample of the Xen planet had still been reported.

Chronology:

March 2000:
The administrator envisages the analysis of the sample taken as a precaution of the military measures. Thus he visited army camps to select the men who will be sent to Black Mesa if it turns bad.
Adrian Shephard performs special training.

May 2000:
Freeman is called to perform the test of the sample.
Implementation of the Blue Shift plan within Black Mesa to enhance safety.
Barney is part of the blue shift plan security.

15 May 2000:
Numerous small breakdowns in the center of Black Mesa to the C sector in zone 3.
Freeman goes to the C section to perform the test.
Barney begins his turn of guard and is sent for maintenance in sector C.
Freeman triggers the opening of a space time glitch by analyzing the Xen sample.
The administrator immediately warns the army that sends an unknown commando of airborne men. Most aircraft are shot down by unknown extraterrestrial forces.
The plane of Shepard crashes, the latter disappears. The order given to the surviving marines is to clean the complex and evacuate thereafter. The marines capture or kill all the survivors. The Black Mesa radio is under military control. Military forces establish camps at the surface to resist assaults. Freeman moved to the surface of sector C but was forced to redecorate because of the bombardments. Barney finds Dr. Rosenbourg and enters the old buildings of Black Mesa.

Night of May 15th to 16th, 2000:
Freeman is in the Black Mesa network to launch a satélite. The launch of the rocket succeeds, the satellite is in orbit. The marines penetrate very slowly into the complex. Barney and Doctor Rosenburg find the old teleport equipment and decide to escape. Barney is sent on Xen to align the teleportation corridors.

May 16th, 2000:
The administrator contacts the Black Ops who are sent to Black Mesa and ordered to make their way through the complex to place a nuclear warhead and evacuate.
The marines penetrate into the old buildings. Freeman is captured by two marines who want to eliminate him. Barney and other scientists teleport outside the complex and escape. Shortly afterwards, Freeman awoke. It reaches the surface where fighting rages between the marines and the aliens. Adrien reached a landing center. Seeing the action of the marines inefficient, the order of evacuation was given and the bombardment of the center began. A handful of marines, including Adrian Shephard, were unable to evacuate and were abandoned in the center. The Black Ops poses the nuclear shield near the surface in area A. Shepard discovers the existence of a monster near the temporary camp of the Black Ops in the storage rooms in Black Mesa. Shephard comes to the end of the monster at the same time as Freeman on Xen.

Freeman agrees to work for the administrator and the Xen planet is untapped under human control. The center of Black Mesa explodes to hide the truth...
