The referee system is both liked and disliked on SportsTalkSocial. Some say it's necessary to moderate the Tribe, and others would rather let the community decide. As we have seen on Steem, very few members of the community will balance rewards and it has mainly been up to the ex-bidbots to provide downvotes to content.
The Tribes however don't have an array of ex-bidbots, they have a noTOKEN4u account, the community, and with sports, a team of referees. The current system has been brought into place by the SportsTalkSocial management by way of selecting accounts that showed they were willing to call out abuse in it's various guises. The new system is going to put the referee selection process back into the communities hands, and I hear it is coming soon.
For now though, we have 9 referees currently moderating the content on SportsTalkSocial, and here are a few charts showing what they have been doing.
Initially, there were only 4 referees (1-4), and so it is surprising to see referee 2 with very few downvotes overall, and also surprising to see so many downvotes from referees 5 and 6.
September was a busy month, and hopefully October wont be the same as the accounts that received downvotes have taken them as a reason to change their approach to the tribe.
When the new system arrives, all community members will be asked to vote for an account they would like to see as a referee. Hopefully those votes land in the right places.
Football Manager
The season ended with a Champions League win, but i'm still disappointed with the FA Cup defeat to Liverpool. I'm looking to buy a player or two during the transfer window, but haven't found anyone up to scratch yet.
Premier League
Manchester United lost again, and have to suffer down in the bottom half of the table for another week at least as there are no games this weekend - I hate shitty international breaks!
Actifit
Exercise today was 2 walks to work and back, and a trip to the supermarket this evening. Surprising that this totals 10 km - not bad from someone with an office job.
