Today I will share a unique restaurant that exists here in Athens. To be transparent with you I will say that the guys are my clients, but this doesn’t mean they are less interesting or awesome.
So, Wonderfood is a strict Vegan restaurant. This means no dairy or eggs. Just things that grow in the soil. Is this restricting? From what I have seen or tasted, I would say that it is not.
Every day you get a salad and main course. All in a nice package as you can see from the picture.
Before I write about the food, I would like to comment on their business model. This restaurant is unique, because you cannot go there, sit and eat. You will have to subscribe to the service and every day you will have your package delivered to your place of choice. This means that they know exactly how many servings they will make, they use only fresh and high quality ingredients , they cook every day exactly what they need and there is no waste or food that is thrown away.
Now let’s see what there was in the package.
A salad with dressing. The sauce was made out of vinegar and spices and the salad was lettuce and other green and orange stuff, caramelized onions, sesame and some other seeds.
The main dish was bean balls with some slightly spicy sauce and rice noodles.
The meal was delicious. Fresh and tasty, I had no cravings for meat or cheese. I was impressed by the fact that I was full, but not “heavy” and want to hibernate like you usually want when you eat meat. It satisfied the hunger and I could immediately get back to work, if I wanted.
Does this mean that I will go vegan and denounce meat for the rest of my life? Obviously not, but I have another choice when it comes to food. Now, I know that this type of food is more tasty than I thought.
