Today we walked to sculptures by the sea, which is a walking trail between Bondi and Tamarama beaches featuring lots of sculptures. The sculptures are only on the trail for about three weeks around this time of the year so it gets crowded. Tomorrow is the last day (that’s why we went today instead!). It was a gorgeous day for it - sunny but high-teens/low twenties in degrees celsius.
This picture gives you some idea of how busy it was. There are also a few sculptures in shot but it’s a little hard to see.
I also went for a short run first thing this morning - 5.4 kms. Speaking of kilometres - I had a shower thought today ... we abbreviate kilometres to ‘kms’, or sometimes even just ‘Ks’, as in ‘I ran 5 Ks today’. When we talk about mass, we use kilograms. That usually gets abbreviated to ‘kilos’, as in ‘I lost 5 kilos from fad diet XYZ’. When talking about money, sometimes people say Ks when referring to x-thousand dollars (or euros, rupees, pounds, whatever), as in ‘I lost 5K from my investment in meme investment XYZ’. OK, here’s the kicker, when we say ‘K’ in money terms, whilst it is short for a thousand we’d never say kilo-dollars. MIND-BLOWN!
Saw this beauty out running this morning. Couldn’t resist stopping for a photo.
