I am very interested in Tesla - not so much the cars but Tesla the company. This includes the impact it could have on our future, their autonomous taxi fleets, the speed in which the gigafactories are being built, the resulting increasing efficiencies and the emerging energy business.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ve probably seen pictures of the Cybertruck. This was most people’s reaction when they saw it - WTF, It’s disgusting, What were they thinking?, etc. The funny part was that a few days later for a lot of people I follow on social media, the thinking started to evolve into It’s growing on me, It’s pretty badass, I love it!. And - to be honest - I started with WTF and started moving to badass a few days later (although I still think the wheel hubs are disgusting). Why? Because everyone else was saying and thinking the same thing. As humans one our greatest needs/wants are to fit in with our crowd/tribe and the Tesla Cybertruck reactions seem like a great case study for this. If the leader of my tribe changes their mind I have to change my mind too! Groupthink clouds judgement. It probably happens all the time without us noticing. Sigh.
WTF? Wait ... no, it’s badass source
Ooops source
And now, on a completely unrelated note - today’s activity for my post. I just managed to get to the 10K steps mark today as I walked home from Town Hall station instead of Central, which is a shorter walk. I wanted to get home early-ish to make the shortbread biscuits I’m giving as Christmas gifts to my colleagues at school.
I’m interested to hear anyone’s thoughts regarding the Cybertruck, groupthink or both. Thanks for reading!
