Most of my Actifit activity recently has been from the indoor track at Chaska Community Center. Didn’t make it there today (too much going on at home this evening) but managed to rack up some decent activity anyway.
It started snowing yesterday evening and I set the alarm for a bit more than an hour before I usually get up to deal with it. We had about five inches, hard to tell exactly how much since wind had blown it around quite a bit. But a little after 6am I went out and did battle with it with a windchill of 12 below Fahrenheit (-24 Celsius). Oh joy.
It was the first real test of my new snowblower. We got a battery powered one with two 56V batteries. A sticker on the chute claimed that it could throw snow 35 feet but my experience was 10 at most, more often 3 or 4. They found the lightest fluffiest snow they could for testing?
But I got a lot of excercise manhandling the snowblower (not self-propelled) and shoveling the steps and walk leading to the front door in our not-flat front yard.
Did a so-so job of it but left it a bit disheveled-looking because I had an early doctor’s appointment before work. The physical therapy I’ve been doing for the Adhesive Capsulitis of the shoulder that’s been causing pain for at least six months had not done much to help. So I got a shot of Triamcinolone today that, at least initially, has done wonders.
After work, another round of snow blowing and shoveling so it no longer looks like a crew of eight-years-olds had done it.
