Day 68
Crickey! I think it's been a week since I punched out one of these.
That's not cool... we're starting back up today and we're not stopping until I'm competing in something or other.
Some slightly sad news
Found out on the grapevine that American Ninja Warrior is filming in LA tomorrow... I did not expect it that quick at all, last year I'm sure they were filming in May. Not only does this mean I didn't get a call, but I didn't even get a chance to jump on the walk on line...
The walk on line is for all the people that didn't make it onto the show... it basically helps the producers fill in any gaps... you might have anywhere from 5 to 20 people get a chance to compete on any of the American Ninja Warrior regional qualifiers based on how late they're running.
I wasn't really sure if I was going to hit the walk on line... it basically means you have to be there every day for 3 weeks before filming, and there's no guarantee you'd get a spot... it's a pretty huge ordeal, but an amazing story if it all comes together.
I'm not too fussed to be honest, most of the guys I know said that it takes a couple of years for them to really pay attention to you... so that's cool, I'll play the long game.
Weekend shenanigans
We went to San Diego, California on the weekend, because that was the weekend for the second American Ninja Warrior Experience... which maybe makes more sense that it was cancelled. All the ninjas that they would have been paying to showcase in San Diego would have been the exact same people that would compete in LA two days later. Interesting...
I went to check out MROC in San Diego which is the closest thing they have to a Ninja Gym. Unfortunately they're currently under construction, so the only video I managed to get was outside...
I did play on a lot of their upper body obstacles. I'm definitely feeling those now... which meant the deadhang was murder today because my hands and lats are just entirely burnt out.
Happy with my run though ANWE trial run today though... fastest time so far.
Monthly Goals
It's taken my 4 months, but I'm come to realise I just don't work well with Monthly Goals. They just don't factor into my schedule until it's too late. So I'll be doing weekly goals instead. I'll set my weekly goal on Monday, to be completed before the next Sunday night. Let's see how that goes. My guess is.... well.
Random San Diego wild animals...
Has anyone seen these guys before? Anyone know what they are?
They are super cute.... and totally warned each other with cute little clicks when I ninja'd too close to get a photo:
