Peacocks are large birds known for their majestic appearance. Their weight varies between 3.5 and 6 kg. Without the tail, the male measures between 90 and 110 cm, and the female, slightly smaller, measures 86 cm.
The peacocks originally came from Asia. But because of their beautiful appearance, they have always been widely domesticated around the world. Few people get a chance to see these birds off a ground, but they can, indeed, fly. Though usually peacocks do that in case of danger, rather than pleasure. When predators appear, birds start running and flutter into the air. Surprisingly, the long feathers don’t affect their take-offs. The distance might be limited, but they can speed up to 16 km/h (10 mph)!
