... of poop on the deck and patio, eggs hidden and lost somewhere in the yard, unexpected baby chicks, and the occasional rooster attack. I had bleeding shins more than once! Now, we have a fortress for them to be safe at night and a huge run. We use the deep mulch method. Lots of weeds and organic materials for them to eat, scratch up and turn into beautiful soil. Another benefit is that there is no smell! Yay!
