Hi everyone. This is here. Welcome to the first development update for the newfound Kalavia project.
It's early days, and not many people are aware of my efforts here, or of the project overall. The idea of this project is briefly described here, but in short it's a combined world-building / RL card game development effort.
Only time will tell how quickly this project will progress, but here are the key highlights of this week:
Release of the KATAMI white paper
This week, I managed to create the KATAMI token on the Hive Engine, and post the accompanying whitepaper on the account. Some first token circulation has taken place already, and depending on the development pace of the project, I expect more to occur very soon.
Card prototype
One type of card in this CCCG is going to be the Character Card. This type is still in the design stage, but I am slowly converging on the rough idea how the character cards should be laid out, and what kind of attributes they'll get. See here a small example:
The prototype may look very basic, but the key here is that it's made procedurally using the Python Pillow library. Using that approach, it will become rather easy to make many cards later on.
I am intending to release a very basic set of cards to make a playable game, but additional cards will need to be unlocked through community interaction further down the line (more details on that soon).
First background information
I've also posted some first background information, pretty much as a small test.
Blockers/dilemmas
One thing I am not certain about yet is how to handle the art. Should I do this art myself (with a low standard), delegate this to other artists in exchange for KATAMI token recognition, or opt for procedurally generated art (more coding work for me)?
Anyway, feel free to leave your thoughts, advice and opinions on any of this, as I am grateful for any input you're happy to give!
