Hello!
Today you will learn the continuation of the Flashpoint Batman story.
If someone has not read the previous parts, then follow the links:
The action takes place in a chronology called Flashpoint. After making inquiries and building a scheme, Thomas realizes that while he was absent from the country, the "The Clockwork Killer" burned down the "Wayne Casino" and killed 4 more people:
- Nathaniel Adam is a 90-year-old astronaut who has never been in a quantum detonation;
- Matthew Ryder;
- Epoch, who claimed that he was from the future, because of which he was declared insane and placed in a psychiatric hospital;
- Percival Sutter - a petty thief who ended up in prison.
The police believe that the murders are not connected with anything. Nevertheless, it dawns on Wayne that these victims are very similar to Barry Allen. They had similar abilities on Earth 0. It turns out that it was the Clockwork Killer who tricked Batman into killing Aquaman. The main character realizes that he is worse than Bruce (0) in the role of the dark knight, and blames Flash (Barry Allen) (New Earth) for this. If Thomas finds this killer and finishes him off, that everything, including him, will cease to exist. Wayne does not know who needs to be killed in order to return to the previous chronology. Coming out of the cave, Batman realizes that, perhaps, heroes from the future (Legionnaires, Booster Gold, Hourman (23rd century)) they don't exist either. Oswald informs the main character that Commissioner Gigante called about the burned casino. Both notice how Dexter, sitting on a chair in his room, was looking at the moon without taking his eyes off. It turns out that Thomas's adopted son, after learning the latest news about the casino, began asking Cobblepot everything about explosives. Wayne tells Oswald to teach Dexter how to use these substances, and then leaves.
When the protagonist arrives at the place where his casino once was, Sofia says that the police are still looking for survivors. Thomas finds a clean chip from his own casino at the site of the explosion. There are scratches on one of its sides. Gigante also reports that the prisoner of the Arkham Asylum, Roger Hayden, known as a Psycho-Pirate, says that he came from the "Hypertime" in order to hide from the so-called "Dark Crisis". This psycho also told the police that Bruce Wayne should be Batman. The main character quickly realizes that Roger can be a clue, since his memory does not change regardless of the world. Thomas is the only one who takes Hayden's nonsense seriously and understands him. It turns out that someone else drugged Roger and left him on the threshold of the hospital 3 days ago.
Later, after changing clothes, Batman enters the Arkham Asylum, knocks out the guard Alexander Benedict and, using his key card, enters Hayden's cell, where he finds a prisoner hanging from the ceiling in a Psycho-Pirate's mask. The main character realizes that someone killed Roger and exposed it as suicide. On the wall of this cell, Thomas sees everything Hayden wrote about New Earth and Earth 0. Wayne understands that all versions of Roger have a single consciousness. Walking to the exit, Batman stumbles upon Gilda Dent, who, thanks to a conversation with Hayden, knows who is under the mask of the dark knight. The main character asks Gilda to tell who killed Roger. In return, the girl asks Thomas to give her the same chip. Gilda says she didn't see anyone. It also turns out that Dexter's sister died in the same way. The girl makes Wayne remember Martha. When Gilda calls Batman a bad father, he punches her in the face through the glass. The girl bangs her head on glass shards and blames the main character for all the troubles in the Flashpoint. As a result, half of Gilda's face becomes ugly. When Thomas runs to the roof of the hospital, he is chased by guards, including Alexander, who has woken up. They want to shoot Wayne, but he manages to jump to the nearest roof.
On the way to the bat cave, Batman realizes that this world still shouldn't exist. The main character decides to destroy his chronology on his own. Thomas notices George Harkness, Heatwave II, Roy G. Bivolo and Top II robbing an innocent girl, and decides to deal with them. Wayne:
- suits the Top "segmental fracture of the diaphysis of the ulna with concomitant fracture of the ulnar process";
- inflicts a "compound fracture of the distal femur" on George;
- imprints a heat wave into the window;
- knocks out Roy.
The girl and the others, except Harkness, run away in fear. Batman snatches the gun out of George's hands and is about to shoot him like Joe Chill Bruce. At the last second, someone grabs the main character and throws him towards the trash can. This someone turns out to be Super-Man, saying that everything matters.
