Today I suggest that you begin your journey through one of the most famous canals of St. Petersburg - the Griboedov Canal. And the first bridge with which I want to introduce you is the Kazan bridge.
The bridge is located in the heart of St. Petersburg on it lies the main street of the city - Nevsky Prospekt. Nearby there are architectural structures like Kazan Cathedral about which you can read here https://steemit.com/art/@megamax/museums-and-monuments-of-architecture-of-st-petersburg-1
as well as the building the house of the company "Zinger" about which you can read here https://steemit.com/art/@megamax/the-house-of-the-company-singer
The Kazan bridge was built in 1765 - 1766 according to the project of the engineer-architect Illarion Matveyevich Golenischev-Kutuzov (the father of the famous Russian commander Mikhail Illarionovich Kutuzov).
In 1805 - 1806, the bridge was reconstructed under the leadership of the Swiss architect Luigi Rusca. The bridge was expanded for which many of the bridge adorning the bridge were dismantled.
The last restoration work was carried out in 1999 - 2002. Today the bridge has a length of 18.8 meters and a width of 95.5 meters.
This place of St. Petersburg is one of the most popular for walks among residents and visitors of the city. I very often go there and do not cease to admire the beauty of the surrounding architecture.
Always with you and I'm waiting for you on walks along the rivers and canals of Petersburg.
