Let's return to the embankment of the Fontanka River. There on the opposite bank of the St. Petersburg State Circus is the functioning Orthodox Church of Simeon and Anna. The church was built by the same Russian architect who built the Transfiguration Cathedral by Mikhail Zemtsov in 1731 - 1734 by the decree of Empress Anna Ioannovna.
