Brew day with the Rusty Rex!
Time to brew, this is a step-by-step description of a brew day with the Brewie B20 and the Rusty Rex Brewiepad!
Start with unpacking the contents of the box:
All that you will need for this brew is included, the malt in a one-time brew bag, the hops in 4 packets, each labeled with 1-4 dots indicating in which hop basket to put them in, the antifoaming tablet and finally the yeast, US-05.
The malt bag goes into the mashing tank of the Brewie B20:
Make sure to push the bag all the way out into the corners of the tank, otherwise the mashing water will just pass on the outside of the bag, not through it as it should. Time to start brewing!
This recipe will take 5.5h, but there is no supervision needed during that time!
1.5h into the brew day and the mashing step is at 14%, the total progress is now 30%.
The boiling is under way, 1 hour and 36 minutes left!
Hopping has started, this is done during the boil step.
Boiling is ready, only cooling left!
Cooling to room temperature, I use this time to rehydrate the dry yeast:
Draining with the built-in pumps is easy, I choose to leave the sediments in the boil tank:
Pouring the rehydrated yeast into my FastFerment tank:
Just kidding, there is some cleaning left to do, but that is not very hard since the Brewie B20 has an automatic cleaning program!
