From the hills of Pennsylvania, Victory Brewing brings us it's Hop Devils to excorcise.
In the name of malt...
And yeast...
And heavenly hops...
Let's sip!
Have you ever eaten a circle like a donut or cracker. Why don't they design flavors to wave over and return to different parts of your tounge like Victory has done with Hop Devil?
There is no doubt a notable ale flavor, but, like a fox, this flavor rolls over the ale, slides through the hop bitterness, and into a caramel sweet cigar flavor (Rocky Patel 7 year) before darting and cycling through the same flavors again. It was a pleasant sip or three.
Behind the scenes here at Hoppy Hour, I typically only pour half a bottle. If I dislike the beer, I dump it. If I like it the bottle is gone.
This beer bottle has been fully excorcised. And the caps that were twisting and spilling beer are now at peace.
I think I'm on the fourth/seventh sip now after refilling my cup. The carbonation on this brew is so perfect. This is the magic bullet - in my book - that tethers everything. Those bubbles are regulating the flavors quite nicely.
The last sip is so so good. It is rich and leaves you with a tiny caramel kiss as the final foam slips out. This is definitely a unique beer and a repeat buy.
