One of the things that has been the most difficult for people during the lockdown/quaratines was the lack of social interaction with their loved ones, family and friends. 'Skinhunger' was even the name which was referred to here in Holland.
But now this Summer when the stats on covid-19 weren't too bad, it was also time to let loose some steam, visit some people but stay distant in the same time. And what better to do with than with a fresh cold rascal on the side
For me it wasn't only always just not seeing people during this quarantine, I was out of the country for five years. But catching up is so much more easy when being face to face with someone. It's been a while.
Everybody had their stuff going on in their lives. Luckily I can say that we always all have stayed in touch with each other, so there weren't too many surprises on life events. That is the good thing about friends. Sometimes you miss some info from each other, but it doesn't matter, because you always have each others back, and you always look out for each other. Even though it was often 8000 kms away over the last couple of years.
Do you like New York Hardcore? As in...with guitars? These classic punkers Sick of it All wrote a beautiful song about it. Not suitable for everyones ears I would say, but tons of memories for me on this one.
You are not alone in this all
Just look around and you will see
The answer is right before your eyes
I'm here for you, and you for me

When life is unfair
True friends will always be there
Back to beers. So it was beer time over the last couple of weeks, and it is amazing to see how much extra craft beer places Eindhoven has gotten. One of out favorite hotspots currently it the 'Radegast' because they have a tremendous amount of craft beers on draft and really love to share them all with you.
As you can see some of them are crossed out already. I guess they change the menu quite often. Well atleast they will with the pace that we are dropping by with friends every time.
There is a little downside on all of this. Although we all do the covid social distance, and we never hug...If I look at my social bubble. Yes, there are weeks that I see 40 or 50 people on social events and talk with them. And when working these easily goes between 100-200. So if I look at my own statistics. I take my measures, but reality is that it would be best if I would wear a mask all day to see all of these people. How big is your social bubble?
I still have the feeling that in a short period of time extra measures will start showing up and we can all lock ourselves back into the house again
And then this whole idea of the summer of 2020 drinking 'Orchestra or Angels' on the terrace with friends will be the vague memory that carries us through the winter lock up again. Cherish the moments!
