#BeerSaturday is at week 232 and I present my latest trip to one of my favourite breweries.

I became a beer blogger because of the years I have spent brewing for myself, the breweries I work with now on their technology and marketing, and the decades spent imbibing combine for the self-decreed title of the #Blockchain #Beerologist.
For week 232, I am heading on up the road and making a stop in at a brewery known to have a great bottle shop.
Pint of the Week!
This pint of the week was enjoyed after my latest guest bartender gig at https://revival.house. It was a fantastic night of live music with a CSNY cover band who belted out a couple hours of those harmonic hits. It is thirsty work and what made it even better was this is a new beer in a style I love from a brewery I enjoy. This is Papaya Peach IPA Beer https://cowbellbrewing.com/collections/new-releases/products/papaya-peach-ipa-beer-x-24-x-473ml-beer which is redundantly titled beer, fruit IPA and juicy IPA all at once. Definitely a nice sweet and fruity beverage that washed down a great night of friends and live music.
Redline Brewhouse!
It has been a couple years of few brewery visits for out of town sessions. Luckily for me, the family still gets together for holiday dinners and often in Barrie where I love to visit http://www.redlinebrewhouse.com/ A couple beers with Christmas dinner at the very least. Lets see what they have in the fridge.
The fridge on the left always holds the old favourites and beers that are available year round...including Clutch APA which is a standard I love. I look here for a sec to see if there is something new and build up suspense for the Special Releases fridge!
Here, I can hope to find some yummy seasonals, playground brews and unique one-offs that generally don't make it to the beer stores in my region.
By the time I was done running around the bottle shop in a giddy haze, I had myself a box with plenty of old favourites, some new IPAs, a few sours, a 6-pack to share and a limited edition Tripel with branded glassware! You know, eventually us beerologists will be gifted this branded glassware for our blogging prowess but I am happy enough to buy them now to support the small brewers.
Series 6 Sour
First up, it is sour time with Series 6 Pineapple and Tangerine Sour http://www.redlinebrewhouse.com/currently-available/ which is mentioned on the currently available page but not linked. I like some sours, and I love other ones so I am excited to sample my first sour from Redline.
I am definitely a fan of citrussy tangerine and sweet pineapple when it comes to beer and cannot remember having a sour that featured them. I am enjoying the design of the label with the big bold 6, simple colour scheme, and neat little pineapple in the middle of the 6.
They also make good use of the label with a third panel that lists some of the finer ingredients of the beer you are about to discover. I am liking the variety of malts, inclusion of wheat and oats for smoothness and texture, the combination of IPA hops, and actual puree of the fruit. Can it be this good?
Yes it can. This is a serious sour. Not watery or overly acidic, not too fruity or sweet, a definite sour that you have to sip in order to not have your face twist up.
I am so glad I picked 2 of these off the shelf. The first one was a hit and definitely a sour I would recommend to my sour loving friends. Kudos to Redline for also being very good at brewing sours in addition to their IPAs!
Tripel!
For some reason, I generally stick to the cans and growlers when it comes to my bottle shop visits. This time, however, I decided to reward myself with this little number. A special bottle with an even more special wax dipped top!
Almost like a bottle of Makers Mark or a sealed letter with a royal wax seal. Should I open it? Hell ya it is my birthday beer too!
It was a little bit of a battle to get through the wax seal and to the cap....not a cork as I expected. Let's pour it out and see what we have.
Series 4 Barrel-Aged Tripel http://www.redlinebrewhouse.com/the-beers/series-4/ is a commemorative batch brewed in tribute to the 4 years this brewhouse has been in operation. They save a little of the base from the previous batch to add to the new one as it spends its time in the barrels.
The last paragraph on the label does a very good job of summing up this strong and interesting beer. Definitely some of the cloviness I have dome to love from European wheat beers. The malt is serious and this is almost as much of a sipper as the sour. Happy to see the haziness as well as this tripel is definitely a special occasion for my mouth. Legit and delicious!
