Fasting and prayers are supposed to effect changes. The divine intent for fastings and prayers are for sanctification and humility upon waiting for answers from God. In the life of Daniel, the angel of the Lord reckoned Daniel’s fast as humility whilst awaiting for answers. (Daniel 10)
These exercises are not religious gimmicks or a period to express hypocrisy. Jesus prayed and fasted and the Apostles followed suit in their days.
Perez Chapel which is presided by the honourable man of God, Bishop Charles Agyenasare, is in a period of fast and prayers. The man of God has taken time to explain some attitudes which expedite results during fasting. He taught his members, that, fasting and praying for lengthy hours and simultaneously treating others with disdain, cruelty and unkindness is tantamount to a deficient fast.
Christians should man up with the attitude of treating others with gracious words and profound humility. It is impossible to love an Invisible God and yet treat the visible fellow with cruelty and unkindness. Christians should also recognise, we as many are one body and should deal with any causative agent of faction and division. We should treat others with respect and kindness as Christians, he charged.
