I love street food. I have been eating it since I was in elementary school. From fishballs to peanuts to pungko-pungko. One of the newest street food favorites is the Proben or Chicken Proven. This fried chicken part is one of my favorite snacks and I would love to eat it when I get the chance. Have you tried this one? :)
Chicken Proven is made of the proventriculus of a chicken. The proventriculus is part of a bird's digestive system and the organ is connected to the gizzard. To make the chicken proven, this part is dipped in a batter then deep fried to a crisp. The end result is a sinfully good chicken nuggets that have a similar texture to fried gizzard and a taste like crunchy chicken skin. We usually pour some sauce or vinegar before enjoying it with some hanging rice or what we call puso locally. A serving is around 20 pesos.
