On the outskirts of Gurgaon, Haryana we have recently bought a lovely Farm house. On the eve of India’s 69th Republic Day Celebrations on 26th Jan, we decided to spend the day there.
The thought of having weekend getaway has been in our minds since long. And what better way than having a little farm of our own. The north Indian soil is apparently the most fertile soil in India. We have sown many vegetables and fruits here. And have attempted only organic cultivation. It has been a year now and we have already started eating only the organic produce from here. Let me take you around our home away from home.
This is the house spread on a plush green land. It is still under construction, so not in the best of state.

This is the are where we have grown our little organic farm.
Can you guess what flower is this?
These are flowers of the Radish plant. A closer look at them -
Who doesn’t like garlic. I can assure you these garlic leaves and the garlic flavours are more aromatic than the ones from the market.
Carrots and Brinjals or Aubergines plants. We have a variety of these planted. The round seeds and the long slender ones.
These are the bottle gourd plants.
Some tiny pomegranates.
Our Mango tree. Though this ain't the season, but you can see how huge this tree is. Well only a Mango lover will appreciate!
One thing you will notice is that Organically grown plants and fruits do not look perfect. Since no artificial or synthetic fertilizers have been used, they vegetables retain their texture and goodness. And needless to say they are more healthy.
The mustard fields around this farm house. There are also several peacocks around this place. Could not click them since they flew every time we tried going near them.
Hope you all have enjoyed this post of our little farm. Pictures are all clicked from my smartphone, hence not the best quality.
This was our first attempt and I think we will stick to growing our own food as a habit to a healthy living!
