Why was Iceland's Christmas advert banned from TV?

Iceland's Christmas advert has been banned from television before even being broadcast after it was deemed "too political" for highlighting the impact of palm oil production.

One of the stipulations enshrined in the broadcast code for advertising practice (BCAP), is that an ad is prohibited if it is “directed towards a political end”.

The supermarket launched its Christmas campaign on social media with a video highlighting the environmental destruction caused by the oil's production.
