Crazy! How it's been such a trend! Bubble tea everywhere and new brands are popping up every single day. Youuuu! I have been loving it and yes, I would say 'passionate'. Have you seen a tag online. Something like, #bobalife ? Meeee! My life right now. Every afternoon I crave it.
It's long holiday this weekend and I somehow kinda knew that there would be some fam and friends come to hang out. I ordered raw tapioca pearl (Boba / bubble) at the house. Yessss!!! The house is livable almost fully! So sure it's fun time to make this fun drink all together with my younger cousins.
The boba tea making process!
Not hard at all but totally time consuming!
- Boil the tapioca pearl for 25-30 mins
- Let it sit for 20 mins
- Put in brown sugar and water and heat it up a bit
- Boil black tea
- Cooked tapioca in a cup then ice, tea, milk the taste you like and bamn! Yay! Have a cup!
For the tea, I went and browse around a supermarket the other day and went for this brand from Srilanka, Dilmah. It's grown, processed and pack there in the country all by hand and man, I heard they're well known for their cylon tea!
The milk, I chose condensed milk for the bolder flavor and the brand would be Carnation we all Thais love.
Well, it's not that bad of a cup of boba tea. It's just not as good as I expected. The boba was good but the tea is not strong enough. Maybe I should leave it in the hot water a little bit longer. Financially, surely, the homemade one is much more inexpensive.
It's awesome to enjoy this fun activity together with fam and have a yummy drink made by us all. I sure would try it again for the better taste.
