My conversation this week with an obese person wanting to lose weight:
Obese Person: I have been following a wonderful food guru for a year and love her and her methods. But I have not lost much weight. Maybe a few kilos.
ME: What is her method?
OP: Completely vegan and she has 200 vegetables recommended. [Goes on to tell me how great this is.]
ME: How do you get protein and fat?
OP: I don't track those. I just eat what she says. No meat!
ME: So are you vegan now?
OP: No! I love meat and eat it a few times a week.
ME: You are not following her program after a year. Maybe just pull out the good parts and work to create your own best diet.
OP: That would be too much work.
I have to wonder why I even try sometimes. My theory of
Eat Less Crap
Eat More Nutrition
works to beat obesity.
But not if no one will try it.
I am moving my focus to gratitude and abundance. Here are some foods and meals from my food photos. All of which I wish I had now. It is hard to post about food when I do not have any. This is something I am working on today.
Huge, cheap Thai dill with lime for scale
Egg and veggie salad before I mix it
Thai street sushi 80 cents usd for all
Another non-mixed salad with watermelon
And here is a salad mixed and ready to eat
Strange Breakfast in Laos
That last photo is the first meal I ate in about three days. I was in Vientiane Laos and could not find food. What I did find was either very expensive or I could not tell what it was. So the breakfast was really breaking a fast.
Later I have learned to just eat. Test the sauces and spend the money when I have it. Try to avoid the foods that do not agree with me and thank God I am out of the US where the food was so toxic.
