Some photographs of food and beverage are attractive because they depict the natural attractive colors. When we try to shoot them in black & white, well, it is not always that easy. If you get the right balance of highlights, shades and mid tones, black & white photographs look exceptionally great. Here is an example I tried with Nikon Coolpix L340:
